How Often Should You Brush Your Teeth?
Even though we live in a society that is more conscious about personal health and hygiene, regular brushing of teeth may not be practiced by all.
How Many Times Should I Brush to Get My Teeth Clean?
Maintaining good oral hygiene is fundamental, as this is necessary for our teeth, gum, and overall health. So brushing twice a day with fluoride-based toothpaste for two minutes is mostly the standard method recommended by the dentist.
Daily oral care is essential, as it could reduce the chances of getting plaque, tooth decay, or any other gum disease. We tend to think that brushing regularly would be enough to have good teeth. But how long do we need to brush each time?
How Long Should You Brush Your Teeth?
According to most dentists, it is good enough to brush your teeth for two minutes by following a proper brushing routine. Brushing can boost your dental health, and we suggest not to apply excessive force on the teeth while brushing as it can cause damage to the enamel and gum tissue teeth.
How to Brush Your Teeth Properly?
There are a few things we should focus on while brushing our teeth.
- Use a wet brush with a pea-sized amount of toothpaste.
- It is best to use fluoride-based toothpaste which will help you prevent cavities and tooth decay.
- While brushing, work in the clockwise direction from the upper molars on the side of the mouth.
- Brush your teeth in a shorter circular motion for the next 20 seconds over the gum line at a 45-degree angle.
- Next, brush in a sweeping motion to rotate the toothbrush head away from the gum line to get rid of plaque and food particles.
- Finish brushing in a clockwise direction to the lower molar on the other side of the mouth.
- Brush on the upper backside of the teeth and also the lower teeth. Don’t forget to flick and sweep in the rear of the teeth.
- Brush on the top surface of each tooth in a circular motion.
- Gently brush on the tongue and sides of the cheek as well.
- In the end, rinse your mouth with water, and also gargle with a good mouthwash.
